Let’s talk accessories!
Wearing the same clothes over and over again can be boring but it doesn’t have to be. In my experience, restyling your outfits with different accessories is the way to go. The accessories can be picked based on different occasions and it can be as simple as you want it to be. Last year I styled this gorgeous off -the- shoulder white dress with a simple denim choker and a denim backpack for a minimalistic look; you can check that post here. This year, I picked the same dress for my day trip to ‘Wicked Tulip Farms’ and decided to brighten it up a bit. I accessorized it with a colorful headband and ‘Austin’ earrings in the same colors as my favorite Tulips. I have linked similar items below as the originals are sold out. As for restyling, if you don’t know where to start, take an all-black or an all-white outfit from your wardrobe and restyle it with different accessories.

“Spring brings new growth; weed out the bad and make room for something beautiful.”
We are getting snow showers/storms every week in Boston and in the hope of spring, we have started the process of spring cleaning our home. In the next couple of months, I will be working on small fashion projects inspired by the quote above – Declutter and Re-style.
The whole concept behind de-cluttering is to remove the things that are not useful in your life anymore. Things to de-clutter in your life could be as small as your emails & desktop and as big as your closet and bedroom. I am targeting a new area at home every day to de-clutter. The easiest way to do that is use those items before you buy new stuff and see if they still work for you. I decided to do a re-styling series on my blog where I will recreate looks from the old pieces of clothing or shoes or bags I own.
In this post, I am re-styling my red ankle boots, red bag and black wool coat and the black dress. Last time I styled most of these items with jeans. Here is a side to side comparison. I love how most of the items are common and yet, both the looks are different from each other.

Weather has been so good in Boston lately and I used the opportunity to style my favorite Chunky Knit Sweater (Similar) from HM which I bought in November. I bought it in size S and it is a little shorter than I expected but I sized up just to get this look. I love the light teal color and it’s very cozy. However, it feels bulky to wear jacket on top of this chunky sweater so it’s perfect for 50’s-60’s weather.
I paired it with my all-time favorite Faux Leather Skirt from Express which I bought on sale. I bought it in size XS and it fits well. Also, my over the Knee Boots are from Marc Fisher and I bought them from DSW for under $50 on sale.
Shopping/Saving tip: Never miss good sales and always make use of the coupons. If you sign up to the brands you love to shop at, they send you deals regularly. On top of the regular sales, you can use also coupons for some extra savings.

To Fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness ~ Robert Morley
I can’t believe we are half way through February! This year we didn’t have plans for Valentine’s day other than just chilling at home; I did want to share this glam yet effortless winter look that is perfect for Valentine’s day or any other special occasion. I basically used most of the items from my closet – Black top, jeans and blush pink pumps.
Do more of what makes you happy!
I am back with another fashion post today featuring this beautiful Blush Pink Waterfall Coat from Boohoo. I bought this in October and has worn this so many times since then. I received many compliments on this coat so I decided to do a full post about it. It is also on sale currently. This waterfall coat comes in 4 stunning colors and the fabric is comfortable. I usually buy size XS/S but bought this in size S/M and fits perfectly. So if you’re Size M, go for size M/L in this style. Here’s the link for plus size Blush coat.
Happy New Year everyone!!
I hope you all had a great time with family and friends. I sure did! I have been away from social media for about a month now and haven’t posted a blog in a while. After taking a break for sometime and reflecting on the past year, I decided to come back and start blogging again.
I love blogging when it’s stress-free but over the past few months, it became overwhelming for me. I was trying to catch up with established bloggers or new bloggers who were growing very fast. I couldn’t move up the ladder as quickly as others because it involved more than just time, commitment, and money for me. I made a lot of great memories in the past two months, traveled places and I unplugged for most of the time. I do have a few travel stories to share with you all in the next few weeks. For today I just wanted to sit with you and share my first post of the year.
”Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better”
I love being amidst nature and exploring new places in and around Boston. I discovered another jewel recently, Arnold Arboretum of Harvard. It is a botanical garden devoted to trees. Away from the city and the noise, this place is very peaceful & beautiful, especially in this season. I planned to meet a friend there but I arrived early and took a walk just by myself. It was so quiet out there that I could hear the rustling of leaves. There is still time to observe a spectacular display of fall foliage and a myriad of beautiful fruits and berries.

I love fall fashion and have been experimenting with different colors this year. However, I am always partial to hues of red – it’s my favorite. I recently went to a formal event where I wore this beautiful Burgundy Maxi Dress from Shein. I can’t resist shopping from Shein; they always have the trendiest clothes at reasonable prices. I got it in the smallest size ‘S’ for under $40. I had to alter it a bit for a better fitting. I love the ruffles on this dress – gives the illusion of a high low dress but it’s a maxi dress.
May your life brighten up like the diyas in the Diwali celebration and keep all darkness away from your life.
Diwali brings so much happiness into our lives- we dress up, spend time with family, celebrate and fill the house with colors and lights. With regards to Diwali fashion, it’s a custom to buy new clothes and since the time I have moved to the US, it’s very hard to find good Indian clothes. One of my issues with shopping for Indian wear here is less or no customization. Mostly, it’s like ‘one size fits all’ clothes which can be altered and sometimes the outfits lose their shape with too much alteration.
Autumn shows how beautiful it is to let things go!
Welcome to my first fall lookbook of the season.
Weather is always unpredictable in the New England area to plan ahead. We went to Vermont this past weekend and even though we booked this trip in advance, we couldn’t really plan anything at all. Before packing for the trip, I looked at the weather and it predicted rainy and foggy day on Saturday and Sunday was showing cloudy and sunny with high temps. Travel Tip – Always check the weather before you start packing.
