Blogging is fun but it is not easy especially when the weather doesn’t support it. It was raining in Boston last week making it a non-ideal situation for the photo shoot. I am still experimenting with my blogging style and I like to explore new locations to see what works the most. It takes a lot of hard work tracking down good locations and coming up with new ideas to share. I found a hidden gem just 2 miles from my place – Wollaston Beach (Yacht clubs).
After being MIA for the past 2 weeks, I am back with more summer fashion ideas. I see summer as an upbeat and cheerful time. I lean towards colorful outfits and bold prints as much as possible before getting into winter grays, black and whites. I found this beautiful halter neck dress with watercolor floral print at Shein. I bought a size ‘S’, it fits well and I like the length of the dress as well. The only downside to this dress is you have to keep pulling it down as you move your arms up. Shein has become one of the favorite online stores for clothes shopping.
I’m also enjoying the ‘end of the summer’ sales as well. Recently, I shopped a lot of stuff from Zara including these amazing Fuchsia/orange high heels. These are definitely one of favorite purchases of the summer. I love the pop of color.
WHETHER IT’S THE BEST OF TIMES OR THE WORST OF TIMES, IT’S THE ONLY TIME YOU’VE GOT!
The 4th of July was a really fun day for us. We shopped all afternoon, and in the evening, we went to see the best show Boston put on – Boston Pops’ concert, and the fireworks. We met with our friends and had a small picnic by the water at Charles River Esplanade. It was a relaxing time; we played some games, had home cooked snacks and watched the extravagant fireworks.
I am so happy to share my picnic look with you all. The fuchsia skort (shorts + skirt) and Polka dot t-shirt with puffy sleeves are both from Zara under $50 – This outfit I styled had a Kate Spade vibe to it. It’s classy and comfortable, especially for picnics. I love the ‘pop’ of color in the shorts. Let’s also talk about the must-have bag of the season – the Straw tote. I chose this neutral bag with the ‘color block’ design and colorful tassels on it. It’s a perfect bag for day trips and Picnics.
Hello Loves! I have been having a wonderful time enjoying the long summer days. When it comes to styling outfits for summer, I love the good old maxi dresses. You cannot have enough of them in your closet for summer because they are perfect for picnics, beach outings, and even weddings. I recently bought this Blue maxi dress featuring an ombre dye wash, strapless cut, high neck, drawstring keyhole back, and an M-slit skirt. The fabric is very basic and soft. If you pair this dress with red sandals, it will make for a flawless outfit for 4th of July weekend. I wore this dress on our day trip to Martha’s Vineyard; it was comfortable and complemented the vibe of the Island.
I am surprised how much Boston has to show to the world. Recently, I found out about Boston Harbor Islands and I went to one of them – Castle Island with my girlfriends. Castle Island is located on Day Boulevard in South Boston on the shore of Boston Harbor. It is currently a 22-acre recreation site. It’s a perfect little summer world in itself; beaches, picnic spots, a huge area for games, beautiful sunsets and recreational activities including Kitesurfing. It’s easier to get there and has a lot of parking in different sections of the island. We spent about 3-4 hours at this place sitting by the water, playing card games and having light snacks. We took some fun pictures while exploring the area.
For this day, I chose to wear a beautiful and Vibrant Maxi dress by Shein. It’s a high-low, halter style dress with color block design. I am impressed with this online brand, the quality of the products for the price, and quick delivery. I am also very excited to style my first Austin earrings by Charming Charlie. I love the color contrast in this piece and it is a great accessory for the summer.
Fashion has always been a repetition of ideas but what makes it new is the way you put it together.
Welcome to my blog 🙂
I feel so grateful to be able to put together the styling ideas I get in my mind and having a platform to express the same. I have seen my personal style evolving in the past few years. It depends a lot on your current lifestyle, location, choices, and feelings. While I maintain my personal style most of the times, I try to do something out of my comfort zone or something I have not done before.
Summer has always been my favorite season because one can be carefree and wild. My basic color palette includes bright colors, florals, and bold prints; it gives me joy and confidence. I love Pastel colors but I never thought they would make a place in my closet. However, this summer has been a little different for me; I picked up some pastel color dresses. I like the subtlety & delicacy of these colors and love how these can still make a powerful impact – It gives softness to your character; I feel colors talk a lot about one’s personality.
I recently bought a Pink Dobby Frill Shirt dress from ‘Missguided US’. I love how this dress brings out one’s feminine side. I styled this dress two ways – first look is the carefree look, and the second look is a bit edgier. I love this hue of rose, the bell sleeves and the tiered frills on this dress. I love the length of this dress; it’s perfect for petite sizes. I am usually a US size XS or a 2 and a UK size 6 so make sure you check the size guide. Missguided is an online fashion retailer based in the UK so don’t get confused between US and UK sizes.
Yes!! I have been waiting for my Zaful package to arrive and here it is! I am obsessed with tropical prints lately. Zaful has a variety of Palm leaf print bikinis and dresses. I love the ruffles at the bottom- changes the whole look of the dress. I like the fit on me. I ordered size S and it runs true to size. Please follow the size guide before you place an order. I received the package after 12 days of placing the order. They do have priority dispatch on some of the items.
Who doesn’t love giveaways? Go to their blog and take a look. I would be very happy if you tag my name “Richa” after participating the giveaway event. Zaful will choose a couple of winners after the event and give out huge rewards!
A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing and you’re sipping cold coffee.
I had a wonderful time on Saturday at Seaport, Boston. I met with a friend at a vegan restaurant “By Chloe” and we chatted for a while. We took the opportunity to bask in the sun. Afterwards, we went for a walk by the water and took some amazing pictures.
Let’s talk about the outfit of the day! This bright Asymmetrical dress from Shein comes in more than 15 colors making it hard to choose just one. I don’t have enough green in my wardrobe so I picked that color. I might just buy another color in this dress because it’s so versatile and can be styled in many ways. I like that it’s airy & flowy making it the perfect sundress for summer.
A denim jacket is a must in everyone’s wardrobe, the design that goes with all kinds of outfits. It never goes out of style. I had invested in one long time ago from Splash fashions and it still is in great condition. If you don’t own one, get one this summer for the colder evenings. I have listed a few of my favorite brands.
Well, I have to say, it took me so long to find a perfect denim dress but it was worth the wait. This is how I styled my favorite Denim cami dress from Express. It is currently on sale and is under $40. If this is not your style, here are the other options for you.
Denim shoes are everywhere right now in the form of stilettoes, pumps, mules but my favorite are the Denim Slides. I got these from Forever 21 and they are under $20. I love the fringe denim look and they are very comfortable.
This is also one of denim forms that have been trending for a long time. I found a perfect denim shirt/top from Primark. The fabric is so soft and I like the frilly arms. I can’t find it online but here are the other options:
This is the simplest denim piece to style. The trend of Choker is still going strong this summer and they can make a part of your wardrobe without breaking your pocket. If they are part of your style, you can choose from the below options. I bought mine from Charming Charlie and it was on sale.
This trend has been coming strong from 2016 but it is ruling this year. I have found so many options for denim bags and they all look so trendy and casual. I love backpacks because they are perfect for summer and easier to carry around. My cute little backpack is from Forever 21 and you can find it here: Forever 21 Denim Mini Backpack. Here are some of my other recommendations:-
These don’t need any explanation! Denim shorts are a must have – right from the High waist, mom Shorts, distressed, low rise – there’s one for everyone. I have so many denim shorts and hands down easiest and coolest summer outfit to style.
We recently took a day trip to Martha’s Vineyard during the Memorial Day long weekend. It was our first time exploring the New England besides Boston. The image below pretty much sums up the things to see/do in this island.
Martha’s Vineyard is an island located south of Cape Cod in Massachusetts that is known for being an affluent summer colony. You can only travel there by air or by boat. We decided to go with Steamship Authority and booking tickets were easy.
We drove to the woods hole and take the ferry from there. If you need to take your car with you in the ferry, you need to purchase the tickets in advance. But if you’re planning to rent a car or bike in Martha’s Vineyard, you can just show up at the steamship authority ferry terminal and buy the tickets there. The round trip ticket per adult is just $16 from Woods hole to Martha’s Vineyard. The schedules are available online.
The ferry ride is just 45 mins and you can choose your destination as “Oak Bluffs” or “Vineyard Haven”. Martha’s Vineyard has 7 small towns, scenic beaches, beautiful light houses and pretty houses. Not to mention, the boutique shops and the seafood.
We took a car with us in the ferry because we were travelling with family. We took a ferry to Oak Bluffs, but we drove to Vineyard Haven to spend some time exploring the streets, boutique shops etc. My sister got a henna tattoo done from Bridgette of of Maple Mehndi. If you are there, be sure to check her out. She is a wonderful artist.
Then, of course, we had to check out the Amazing light houses – there are 3 in Martha’s Vineyard. We went to Gay Head Light House based in Aquinnah and Gay head cliffs. We spent some time at the light house, then we took a trail from there to the Gay head cliffs where you see endless water view and the light house from far. We couldn’t really enjoy the beaches because it was little cold that day. But if you go on a sunny day, make sure to spend some time at the scenic beaches. On a side note, this light house makes the perfect place for pictures – engagement pictures, family portraits etc.
After that, we headed to Edgartown – it has a completely different vibe than Vineyard Haven. Beautiful Gingerbread houses, Breweries and another Light house. We mostly drove around town and then had lunch at Sharky’s Cantina. We also stopped by a beach on the way to Oak bluffs.
Finally, we went back to Oak bluffs near our terminal to spend last hour before we headed back to Boston. Oak bluffs is known for Ice cream and Pizza, there were at least 5 ice cream shops in the same street. We had to try ice cream, so we went to Mad Martha’s Ice cream shop. The Street outside the terminal had bike rentals, surf shops, clothing stores and more.
However, I would recommend a 2 day stay at Martha’s if you’re coming from far.
I sure had fun with my family; we went to Cambridge, strolled around Harvard University and spent an evening at the Boston Common. What a beautiful park! It was decorated with 37000 plus flags for Memorial Day.
I’m really excited to share my new sunnies from Newbee Fashion; they have a wide selection of trendy sunnies. The price and quality is similar to Sunglasses at Forever 21 and Charming Charlie. I am always on the lookout for sunglasses and I found the perfect ones to add to my collection. I picked up the Gold/green geometric aviators and I totally love them especially the gold detailing on the top – They are just perfect for summer.
Newbee Fashion, located at Los Angeles, California provides free US domestic delivery and a 30 day warranty. If you sign up, you will receive a 10% discount on the first pair of sunglasses. Delivery is pretty quick – I received my sunglasses within a week and the packaging was safe and secure. Returns are easy as well.
