”Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better”
I love being amidst nature and exploring new places in and around Boston. I discovered another jewel recently, Arnold Arboretum of Harvard. It is a botanical garden devoted to trees. Away from the city and the noise, this place is very peaceful & beautiful, especially in this season. I planned to meet a friend there but I arrived early and took a walk just by myself. It was so quiet out there that I could hear the rustling of leaves. There is still time to observe a spectacular display of fall foliage and a myriad of beautiful fruits and berries.
Blush Pink Bebe Backpack – I have been looking for a perfect sized backpack for travelling and I found it at TJ Maxx. This backpack is under $40 and has this beautiful squishy quilted look with gold details. You can also find it Here. TJ Maxx is also my favorite place to shop for Shoes & home stuff.
May your life brighten up like the diyas in the Diwali celebration and keep all darkness away from your life.
Diwali brings so much happiness into our lives- we dress up, spend time with family, celebrate and fill the house with colors and lights. With regards to Diwali fashion, it’s a custom to buy new clothes and since the time I have moved to the US, it’s very hard to find good Indian clothes. One of my issues with shopping for Indian wear here is less or no customization. Mostly, it’s like ‘one size fits all’ clothes which can be altered and sometimes the outfits lose their shape with too much alteration.
Autumn shows how beautiful it is to let things go!
Welcome to my first fall lookbook of the season.
Weather is always unpredictable in the New England area to plan ahead. We went to Vermont this past weekend and even though we booked this trip in advance, we couldn’t really plan anything at all. Before packing for the trip, I looked at the weather and it predicted rainy and foggy day on Saturday and Sunday was showing cloudy and sunny with high temps. Travel Tip – Always check the weather before you start packing.
Rosewater facial sprays have always been my favorite in India. I couldn’t find them anywhere in the US until I saw Mario Badescu Hydrating aloe & rose water spray at Ulta – I knew I had to have it. It is so refreshing and calming. I use it first thing in the morning or sometimes even to set my makeup.
Hello Glam Fam,
Fall is here and I am so excited for everything fall. Recently I updated my living room décor for fall, check it out here. I can’t wait to do things from my bucket list. I am overjoyed to style fall clothing – sweater dresses, hues of orange, red, yellow and green.
Newport is the one of the prettiest towns on the New England coastline. It’s famous for its million dollar mansions built for warm weather retreats.
We took the weekend trip to Newport on a whiff and booked Airbnb last minute. We planned to see at least two of the mansions and relax for the remaining hours. We left on Saturday morning and went directly to the 1st Mansion – ‘The Breakers’ which is the grandest of Newport’s summer cottages and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family’s social and financial preeminence in the turn of the century. We were mesmerized by the beauty of it. The audio tour was very informative; we spent about 2 hours listening to it, taking pictures and relaxing at the Lawn facing the sea. To know more, check out their website.
Day 1 – I wore this beautiful High-Low Blue dress to the Mansion to complement the magnificent beauty of it. The dress is from Zaful and is under $30. The material is not Chiffon as described but polyester so the quality is average. The color is really gorgeous and the dress is exactly how it looks in the picture.
Life Begins when you’re at the end of your comfort zone!
It has been a while since I wore a color coordinated outfit and I absolutely love how it turned out. I wore this outfit for brunch with my friends. I wanted to be comfortable and also, feel classy. The crop top is from Primark and I have worn it a few times before. The fabric quality is average.
One thing about Vintage Fashion – it always comes back with a bang. We have seen velvet, gingham and big floral prints emerge again as current design trends. Since I love vintage prints I got this skirt tailor-made. I bought this fabric from the local market in my hometown – Jalandhar (Punjab), India. The fabric is really thick and is not flowy. If you’re into vintage fashion with a modern twist, check out ‘Chicwish’. They have an amazing collection of vintage dresses & skirts, especially in floral and bold prints. Also, Etsy is another platform to look for vintage fabrics/outfits. I have linked down a few of my favorites from Chicwish in the similar prints as my skirt.
When in doubt, wear pleated!
Personally, I love wearing skirts but I find them the hardest clothing piece to style. There are so many designs that cater to all the styles and sizes. I always look for the trendiest skirts of the season and I couldn’t miss this one in particular. If you want to experiment, it has to be a skirt with ‘pleats’. If you have a wedding to attend, you can choose shades like blush pink or mint green and if you have a party to go out to at night, wear metallic pleats – This skirt is here to serve the purpose.
